The 4th issue for 2025 of the journal “Russia and the New States of Eurasia” has been published. Traditionally, the authors focus on Ukraine. The issue opens with the article on the role of the Donald Trump administration in the negotiation process on the settlement of the Ukrainian crisis. The structural changes in the Ukrainian economy during the entire period of its independence are also examined. Considerable attention is paid to the foreign policy of Belarus in the conditions of the Russian Special military operations in Ukraine. As before, the authors focus on Central Asia. First of all, the researchers analyze the strategies of Russia, China, the United States, and the European Union in Central Asia after 2022. In addition, the foreign economic relations of Kyrgyzstan, the main areas of cooperation between Turkmenistan and Turkey, and the development of creative industries in Kazakhstan are considered. Attention is also paid to the problems of labor migration from Central Asian countries. The researchers are looking for an answer to the question of whether the secondary vocational education systems in Central Asia can train personnel for labor activity in Russia, and analyze the diversification of labor migration flows from Uzbekistan. The role of the Turkic Academy as a tool for the scientific promotion of Turkish ideas and values also has become the subject of study. Great attention is paid to Transcaucasia. The authors analyze the new US mediation initiative “Trump Route”, consider the prospects for concluding a peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan. Of considerable interest is the article on the CSTO’s approaches to addressing security challenges emanating from Afghanistan. GUAM’s activities from 1997 to the present is also analyzed in the issue.
