Abstract. The article provides an analysis of President Donald Trump’s policy and possible scenarios for the further development of the situation in Central Asia. It analyzes Washington’s positions towards this region as well as the old and new formats of both bilateral and regional cooperation against the backdrop of severe competition for the region between the key players – the United States, China, and Russia. A consistency of Washington's policy towards the Central Asian region is clearly traced while implementing of American policy in this area. The author concludes that the role and significance of the Central Asia could constantly be switching depending on the place it would occupy under the Trump administration.
