Abstract. The article examines the progress and results of the presidential elections in the Republic of Abkhazia in 2025. It lists the reasons that led to the overthrow of President Aslan Bzhania during the events of November 15-19, 2024. It analyzes the similarities and differences between previous political crises in the republic - 2014, 2020 and 2024. Particular emphasis is placed on the process of rejuvenation of the Abkhaz political elite, the emergence of people aged 40+ and younger on the public stage, and the degree of impact of this process on both the domestic and foreign policy of Abkhazia. The dynamics of Russian-Abkhaz relations in the current period, especially during the last election campaign, are separately analyzed, and assessments of their state and near-term prospects are given.
