The 1st issue for 2025 of the journal “Russia and the New States of Eurasia” has been published. The issue opens with two articles on the presidential elections in Belarus held on January 26, 2025. Traditionally, great attention is paid to Transcaucasia. The researchers consider the state of Russian-Armenian relations, post-conflict settlement between Azerbaijan and Armenia, historical policy in Georgia, the development of Azerbaijan’s cooperation with the CIS countries. As before, the authors focus on Central Asia. The researchers analyze the changes in the foreign policy line of the Central Asian states caused by the Ukrainian crisis, soft power of East Asian countries towards Uzbekistan, the Chinese factor in Kyrgyzstan. Cooperation between China and Kazakhstan in the sphere of tourism is also considered (and the author of the article is Chinese scientist Wang Xuemei). Considerable attention is paid to the Central Asian economies. The researchers study Asian Development Bank’s financial policy toward Central Asian countries and investment cooperation of Kazakhstan.
