The 4th issue for 2024 of the journal “Russia and the New States of Eurasia” has been published. Traditionally, the authors focus on the Ukrainian conflict. The issue opens with the article on the development of the Ukrainian crisis in 2024. The transformation of the Three Seas Initiative in the context of the conflict over Ukraine is also considered. As before, much attention is paid to Belarus. The authors analyze foreign policy maneuvers of Minsk and military-political importance of Belarus for Russia, offer ways to strengthen ideologically the Union State of Russia and Belarus. Considerable attention is paid to the electoral processes in the post-Soviet space. The researchers analyze the results of the presidential elections in Moldova, parliamentary elections in Georgia and Uzbekistan. As before, the authors focus on Central Asia. The researchers study, in particular, Turkey’s policy in Central Asia, Kazakhstan’s participation in integration processes within the EAEU and the Organization of Turkic States. A number of articles published in the issue are devoted to the economies of the region’s countries. The role of crypto-currency in Russian trade with the Central Asia countries, the development of “green” energy in the region and the socio-economic situation in Tajikistan are explored. The article on the prospects of development of the Great Eurasian Partnership is also of considerable interest.
