Abstract. In the context of Russia’s special military operation in Ukraine, the situation around Transnistria has significantly worsened. The Ukrainian side does not abandon its clear intentions to involve Chisinau in the escalation of the conflict with the PMR. Actions of this kind can provoke a destabilization of the situation in the region. The United States and NATO are increasing their pressure on Chisinau, hoping to use Moldova both in a local operation to defeat and capture Transnistria, and in the general anti-Russian bloc.
