Abstract. The activation of NATO on the borders of the Union State strengthens the interaction of Russia and Belarus in the field of military cooperation. By supporting its ally in the western direction, Russia will continue to strive to keep NATO at a remote distance from its borders. The general context of the Russian-Belarusian integration has changed since the beginning of the special military operation. The new economic reality contributes to deepening of integration and expansion of economic cooperation between the two countries in the field of import substitution.
