Abstract. On the eve of the next presidential elections in Moldova, the confrontation of political forces is growing. The political confrontation is caused by the division of public opinion on the issue of  European integration. Relying on Moscow’s support, the President of the Republic of Moldova, without canceling the country’s course towards European integration, confirms the intention to completely restore lost ties with Russia. Leadership of the political opposition is preparing to form a serious competition with the current President in the upcoming elections.
