Opposition Movements in Kazakhstan in the Post-Nazarbayev Period

Abstract

The article examines main trends in the political development of the Republic of Kazakhstan during the period after resignation of N. Nazarbayev from the presidential post  and K.-J. Tokayev coming to power. It analyzes the growth of the opposition movement taking as an example its most active representative – “Democratic Choice of Kazakhstan” under the leadership of M. Ablyazov.
