Abstract. The article analyses the present condition, trends and problems of Belarusian-Vietnamese economic relations and evaluates an influence of a Free Trade Area (FTA) being formed between the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and Vietnam on their development. Importance of mutual cooperation for both countries is revealed. On the basis of analysis of economic relations of the two countries by major directions (mutual trade, industrial cooperation, investment cooperation) it is shown that a considerable progress was achieved in their development over the last 15-20 years. Problems standing in  the way of mutual economic relations, including a mainly raw materials character of the Belarusian export to Vietnam, underestimation by Belarusian enterprises of cooperation opportunities with this country, presence until recently of customs barriers in mutual trade are indicated. Measures taken by both countries aimed at resolution of these problems and activation of mutual cooperation are considered. Influence of realization of the Free Trade agreement between the EAEU and Vietnam that became effective in 2016 on the Belarusian-Vietnamese economic relations is shown. Short-term prospects of  development of these relations in the context of forming of the FTA  are considered.
