Abstract. In Armenia political events, pre-conditions for which were known to almost everyone although probability of their realization was practically not foreseen, took place in the summer of 2018. Various indicators showed that energy was accumulating in the society strengthening opposition. But the practice of previous protests did not suggest the possibility of changes in the country that Armenia actually lived through in 2018. As a result, what happened was a surprise not only for the domestic audience, but also for the external one, which gave rise to the feeling of unpredictability and apprehension towards the post-revolutionary Armenia and its new authorities. Although the country's foreign policy has not been changed, existing uncertainties in the domestic politics and economy give rise to apprehension not only inside the country, but also among external partners. The situation is further complicated by the fact that revolutionary processes have their own logic and internal dynamics which also have an impact on the situation in the country and will continue to accompany it.
