Abstract. The article analyses the current state of the Ukrainian small and medium-scale business, including the state policy, legislation, structure and problems existing in this sphere. The conclusion is made that the share of the small and  mediumscale business in the Ukrainian GDP has lately reached 60% which is comparable to the EC data and much larger than in the Russian Federation.
