Abstract. The article analyzes position of Kazakhstan in the system of international invest-ment flows as well as current trends in changing the present situation. The article considers the role of the country from the standpoint of its share in main forms of global foreign investments, including accumulated direct investments and their inflows, portfolio investments, various types of debt financing. Investment activities of Kazakhstan abroad formed mainly by government portfolio investments are also analyzed. Main forms of international investment cooperation according to their long-term dynamics and key trends are explored too highlighting a decline in both net inflow of foreign investments into the country and of investments from Kazakhstan abroad.
