Post-Soviet Space: Factors and Cycles of Development

Abstract. The article makes an attempt to describe and systematize factors that cause developments of the post-Soviet space as a political-geographic region of the world, to analyze interaction between centrifugal and centripetal tendencies during all its history. The author analyzes discussion on whether the post-Soviet space still exists now and how it changes.  The article introduces and substantiates concept of cycles of developments of the post-Soviet space and considers perspectives of its further evolution.
