Abstract. Dramatic events in Ukraine made a highly controversial impact on development of Polish-Ukrainian relations. Although being convinced eurosceptics the Polish rightwing conservatives declared the “European perspective” for Ukraine a strategic goal of the Polish foreign policy. At the same time the Ukrainian state pro-ject in its present form which appeals to most aggressive and criminal examples of the nationalist ideology of the past century strongly contradicts the official War-saw stand. Thus the landmark event was the legislative condemnation of the genocide committed by Ukrainian nationalists against the Poles during World War II.
