Abstract. The article considers main results of the coup d'etat carried out four years ago in Ukraine. Its main attention is paid to the consequences of the geopolitical reorientation of Kiev, the impact on the economic situation in the country of the refusal of the Ukrainian authorities to maintain mutually beneficial relations with Russia. Also, reasons for which Ukraine's expectations connected with the European integration were not fulfilled are analyzed.
