Abstract. The article analyzes the policy of the European Union (EU) regarding post-Soviet Central Asia (CA); main directions of the EU activities in this region as well as contacts with the Central Asian states in the economic and political spheres are outlined. Particular attention is paid to the problem of interaction between the EU and Kazakhstan, its privileged partner.
