Abstract. The article considers the whole range of humanitarian relations between Armenia and Russia in the period after the collapse of the USSR and until 2017. Attention is paid not only to the juridical base, but also to practical cooperation in the sphere of culture and art, science and education, the media, and issues related to language and the diaspora. Also, the analysis of public opinion polls data is done, which reflects the Armenian society's perception of the humanitarian cooperation between Armenia and Russia and current trends in this sphere.
