Abstract. Military cooperation is the most important direction for successful cooperation between Russia and Belarus. The union states have the same ideas about the measures to strengthen the defense capacity. Belarus is Russia's only ally in the west. The active cooperation of the two countries in the field of defense is a response to the strengthening of the military power of NATO at the western borders of Russia.
