Abstract. International political interaction of Central Asian states with Turkey and Iran is analyzed by the author with a view of exploring interests and priorities of the latter in the post- Soviet Central Asia. The article examines in detail strategic and tactical policies of Turkey and Iran in the key states of the Central Asian region. The author comes to the conclusion that although Central Asian states link their economic interests, security concerns and geopolitical imperatives to Turkey and Iran it is Russia and China that remain their principal partners.
