Eurasian Integration Project and Russia’s Strategic Interests

Abstract. The author considers the Eurasian economic integration started in 2010 with Rus-sia’s active participation as a geostrategic project aimed at ensuring a wide scope of its strategic interests by promoting processes of inter-state cooperation in the post-Soviet space and thus transforming the latter into one of the most important poles on influence in the present world. The article analyzes the progress of the Eurasian integration process, examines its basic stages, achievements, difficulties and prospects, as well as the role and importance of cooperation with principal foreign partners.
