Central Asian States and Threats of Religious Extremism

Abstract. Radical Islamism presents a formidable threat to stability of Central Asian states. Active counteraction to the spread of ideas of religious extremism has been carried out recently in these countries. Establishment of a much more rigid state control over activities of religious organizations has become a general tendency in regional countries.
