Abstract. The article analyses first results of implementation of the Agreement of association between the European Union and Ukraine for the latter economy. The conclusion is made that the situation in the economy of Ukraine at present as well as in the near future will be dictated by the loss of the Russian market and not by lifting custom duties in trade with the EU.
