Shanghai Cooperation Organization and Threats to Central Asian Regional Security

Abstract. The article examines basic directions of cooperation in the framework of SCO aimed  above all at maintaining security in the Central Asian region as well as at fighting terrorism, extremism and separatism there. The authors also offer their forecasts regarding further development of the SCO as a regional integration organization.
