// Russia and New States of Eurasia. 2016. No 3. P. 33-41

Abstract

After the 1992-1994 war the fighting in the Karabakh conflict area on April 2-5, 2016 became unprecedented both in its scale and severity. Against the deadlock in the negotiation process the conflicting parties undertake measures to build up their military potentials. Under these conditions even a short-timed violation of the mil-itary balance in the conflict area may cause the resumption of large-scale military activities.
