Azerbaijan Minority in the Political Life of Modern Russia

Abstract

Azerbaijanians reside in the majority of Russia’s regions. Large Azerbaijan com-munities exist in Daghestan, Moscow, St. Petersburg. The Azerbaijan minority plays an especially important role in the political life of Daghestan. In author’s opinion, in perspective the Azerbaijan diaspora in Russia may serve as a connecting link between Russia and Azerbaijan.
