Kyrgyzstan – Eurasian Economic Union: First Steps

Abstract. In December 2014 a Treaty on Kyrgyzstan joining the Eurasian eco-nomic union was signed and  by August 2015 the procedure of Kyrgyzstan’s entry into the EEU was completed. Joining this  integration union had a number of positive consequences for the Kyrgyz economy. However it also  created certain difficulties and problems. The authors come to the conclusion that serious  fundamental reforms of the republican economy are necessary for a successful integration of  Kyrgyzstan into the EEU structures.
