Abstract. In spring 2015 presidential elections were held in two largest Central Asian states – Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan. President of Uzbekistan I. Karimov and President of Kazakhstan N. Nazarbaev were reelected for another term by an overwhelming majority. In their foreign policy both leaders will most likely continue a multivector course which is based on maintaining close ties with Russia and simultaneously balancing them by strengthening relations with the USA, EU countries, China and large regional powers.

Keywords: presidential elections, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Central Asia, multivector foreign policy
