Abstract. Problems of globalization have a direct impact on the international community interests. The space formed by the Commonwealth of Independent States and by the Eurasian Economic Community presents real possibilities for coordinated common actions in the field of integration. The “Eurasian Nucleus” formed by Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan possesses an opportunity, building on the European Union experience, to become the centre of formulating a policy of economic integration. At the same time an integrative role of non-economic factors, in particular of their civilization and humanitarian components, should be taken into account.
