The UK is one of the largest military powers and the largest arms producers not only in the Western Europe, but also in the world. This article examines the main groups of intra-system indicators that characterize the condition state and the main trends of the UK’s military- economic development. The key ones include the level of financing of the state’s military organization, the structure of the military expenditures, their share in the country’s gross domestic product (GDP), and the volume of arms exports. The article analyzes their dynamics over the past few years and highlights the main military projects of the UK Ministry of Defence. The main problems of such projects as the time-scales and the cost overruns are considered. In this regard, the article analyzes the significance of single source contracts for the military economy, as the largest, whose share annually accounts for about 50% of the procurement expenditures of the UK Ministry of Defence.
