Foreign policy of India and the impact of the endogenous factors

The evolution of post-independent India’s foreign policy and the impact of the endogenous factors on the foreign policy strategy are analyzed in the paper. The significance of the Indian elite, business, different ethnic and religious groups, the model of the decision-making process in the sphere of the foreign policy, and the contribution of Prime ministers, ministers and chief advisers are under examination. The author comes to the conclusion that the Indian society has achieved enough unanimity of views on the major macro problems of foreign policy, though there are different opinions of the mechanisms and the tools of achievement of these goals.
