The article assesses the Visegrads countries’ contribution to the EU economy. The features of the economy’s structure of members of the Visegrad “four” and its transformation during the 2010s are considered. The most important for the European economy is the Visegrad mining industry. Its contribution, taking into account modern conditions, can only increase in future. Several traditional manufacturing industry subsectors also have strong positions, especially mechanical engineering and chemical industry, as well as some areas of the tertiary sector. Main factors that influence the Visegrad groups’ contribution to the EU remain, including cheap labor force, labor productivity, FDI and innovation activity. The economy of the Visegrad countries plays a certain role in the EU, which transforms under intra-country processes and phenomena in the integration association, that predetermines future changes in contemporary crisis conditions.
