Challenges to the global security in the 21 st century: ethnic and civilization conflicts

Certain important challenges to global and national security are analyzed in this article. Particular attention is paid to the consequences of global migration, degradation of national identity, demographic and social changes, escalation of political and civilization confl icts. Conflicts in the Middle East and in Ukraine are considered from this point of view. It is concluded that development of common civic identity, preservation of traditional family and other social institutions are necessary for stabilization of social and political situation in Russia.
