The current issue of the ongoing publication World Development is based on materials from the International Conference of Young Scholars and Scientists held at the IMEMO on April 24–25, 2025. The volume focuses on contemporary models of development and their transformation under conditions of global uncertainty and diverse national political strategies. The first section examines theoretical and conceptual approaches to understanding development. The second section is devoted to the analysis of global and macro-regional processes within which different models of development are shaped and compete. The third section turns to national trajectories, demonstrating how states respond to common challenges and formulate their own development strategies. The volume is intended for researchers, university faculty, postgraduate and undergraduate students, as well as for all those interested in current trends in the global economy, politics, and international relations.
