Over the second decade of the XXI century, Turkey has systematically increased its activity and presence in the post-Soviet space and in the Central Asia region, in particular, becoming a signifcant competitor to the "big three" traditional major external players for the region, Russia, China and the West. At the same time, the success of Turkish foreign policy is based on a fexible, proactive approach based on cultural, mental, and linguistic commonality with the Central Asian peoples, as well as the authority of the President of the Republic Recep Erdogan, thanks to which Ankara manages to compensate for the lack of political and economic resources comparable to competitors. In turn, Turkey's activity as a "fraternal" external player allows the Central Asian countries to build their multi-vector policy more comfortably and efectively and strengthen their negotiating positions with other major players.
