The book analyzes major processes and contradictions in the Pacific region in terms of power and responsibility. The authors suggest considering the configuration of international political and economic relations in the region in terms of relative size and hierarchical order of power of major countries as international actors. The authors describe how the power of major nations and their associations is reflected in their practical opportunities and recognized them as a factor entailing responsibility for the situation and overall stability in the region. The above phenomena are viewed as constantly changing, which makes it possible to predict their future evolution.
