Acceleration of economic growth and moving Russia to the club of the biggest global economic powers has been formulated as the national goals in the May 2018 President Putin Decrees. We know that the level of innovation activity in Russian economy is low, dependence from imported technologies in the most important industries is high, but the government's programs for support and stimulating innovation activities has not produced the expected results. The government want to change this situation by the new regulation putting in mind the real achievements of foreign technological leaders. The goal of the paper - to analyses dependence of economic growth form the industrial R&D activity concentrated in big corporations. That has been proved by the economic theory and recent empirical data from different countries and industries.
