Structural shifts in the energy sector of Russia for the period 2000–2018 are analyzed, taking into account global supply chains. A modification of the author's model of the input-output model of the world economy is proposed. The leading role of energy resources production and processing is shown. An economic justification is given. The model was tested using data from the Federal State Statistics Service and the Central Bank of the Russian Federation.
