The article is devoted to the urgent problem of ensuring security in the Black Sea-Caspian region. Against the backdrop of changes between the power centers of world politics and its periphery, the whole structure of regional relations has undergone restructuring. The article examines the factors influencing the dynamics of  regional  processes.  Particular  attention  is  paid  to  initiating  cooperation  initiatives to overcome political and social instability and narrowing the gap in the levels  of  social  and  economic  development.  The  future  of  integration  processes  in  the  macroregion,  scenarios  and  models  of  its  development  are  reflected  in  the emergence of the concepts of "Europeanization", "Neighborhood", the Greater Middle East and Greater Eurasia as ideological and political systems of a regional nature.
