The Baltic countries have been members of the European Union since 2004. This year’s European Parliament elections were their fifth in a row. This means that it is already possible to talk about certain patterns and electoral trends. As a method of the author’s research of this topic, the author chooses a comparison of the activity and popularity of political parties through their participation in elections. Local and global factors are compared and the distribution of Baltic deputies by factions in the continental parliament is considered. The study shows that over the past 20 years, the Baltic countries have participated in such elections at about the same level - about 30 percent. Moreover, representatives of the same parties are elected to parliament. Such patterns indicate that the population of these countries does not show much interest in the elections in question. More broadly, the membership of the Baltic States in the European Union is not perceived by the local population as an effective tool for improving well-being.

Keywords: elections to the European Parliament | the Baltic countries | the length of participation in the elections to the European Parliament | the number of Baltic deputies | the number of Baltic parties participating in the elections to the European Parliament | the ratio between government and opposition parties in the elections | the distribution of deputies by fractions |
