The hundred days of George Papandreou: time for an economic course change?

In 2009 the Greek economy faced a severe economic crisis and a threat of sovereign default, which enforced the centre-left government to embark on unpopular economic reforms. The author describes the key features of Greece’s economic crisis, analyses the social and economic reforms, proposed by the two major political parties, and shows, how far the anti-crisis policy of Greek prime-minister George Papandreou differs from his election promises.
