This article examines the approaches of Cambodia and Vietnam to cybersecurity, cybercrime, and personal data protection. Currently, Vietnam is actively improving its legislation and adapting to changing threats in the face of increasing external and internal pressures. Cambodia, on the other hand, has not been flexible. Despite the adoption of some legislative measures, the country is unable to adequately respond to new challenges, which inevitably affects the growth of cybercrime and the deterioration of the cybersecurity situation. It is important to note that Vietnam could be a model for Cambodia in transforming its approach to online threats, and increased international cooperation with countries with relevant experience would provide a wider range of tools.
