Over the past few years, the State of Israel has experienced a serious socio-political crisis. Between 2019 and 2022, there were five rounds of parliamentary elections, reflecting a high degree of political instability. In 2023, the government’s attempt to implement judicial reform triggered massive protests, uniting representatives from business, the high-tech sector, and the military. These events deepened social divisions and negatively impacted the state’s investment climate and financial stability. The crisis culminated in Hamas’s attack on southern Israel on October 7, 2023, which led to the outbreak of a full-scale armed conflict in the Gaza Strip, subsequently extending into hostilities in Lebanon. The economic consequences of the crisis have included a decline in consumer confidence, a drop in foreign direct investment, and increased budget deficit and debt burden. The massive mobilization of reservists led to labor shortages in key sectors, particularly technology and industry. In response to these challenges, the government was compelled to revise fiscal policy and increase spending on defense and social support. This article examines the short- and medium-term consequences of these events, analyzing macroeconomic indicators, labor market conditions, the investment climate, inflation rates, and financial stability. Particular attention is given to the impact of the crisis on the technology sector, traditionally considered the engine of the Israeli economy. Additionally, the article explores the war’s impact on social cohesion. The analysis presented allows for the assessment of measures that could help overcome emerging challenges and ensure the state’s longterm sustainable development.
