Simoniya Nodari
The Socioeconomic Aspects of Global Leadership.
Publication Type:
Rubric:

The article discusses the contemporary stage of development of capitalism as a socio-economic structure, the parameters of the evolution of which were clarified during the recent financial crisis. The author concludes that true globalization of capitalism as a directly social labour is unfolding in this day and age through the proliferation of information and technological fabric of life and economy, driven by the relevant transnational corporations. Based on the US material, the article proves to what extent the success of the national economy in the present-day world hinges on the willingness to develop and innovate, even in spite of the financial and budget deficits and imbalances of various sorts. This observation is confirmed by the experience of China, value added costs of industries wherein are disproportionately low due to the fact that the real innovative technologies continue to be advanced in the leading countries. So long as this trend persists, it is justifiable to talk about ‘catching up’ model, which is barely compatible with the concept of global leadership.
