The author studies the impact of the digital economy on employment in Russia. The mechanism of digital transformations is studied in the context of post-Soviet structural specifics of the Russian labor market. Its structural disproportions add certain local specifics to all global processes, including the digital transformation of employment, that are unfolding in our country. They create not only common but also specific risks that require special attention to Russia's social and economic policy. Possible political and managerial responses to the unfolding changes that can suppress the harshest social repercussions from the digital transformations in the contemporary conditions are also discussed.
