Relying on ample evidence, as well as works of Russian and foreign researchers, the author has studied the impact of such internal factors as mass poverty, urbanization and population growth on small-scale enterprises and determined the distinctive features of industrialization and the role of small-scale enterprises in that process in developing countries as opposed to European countries. The author’s conclusion is that the existence of small-scale enterprises is a necessary condition for a strong domestic market and economic development at micro-level.
