The authors have made an attempt to determine the vector of Russia’s economic development within the world economic system, having studied two global issues: first, three ways of economic growth (based on innovations, relying on raw materials, and a mixed one) and means to raise their efficiency; second, mechanisms of State-business partnership to solve the problem. Much attention has been given to a new phenomenon in the Russian economy: creation, under state control, of global holdings in aerospace industry, shipbuilding, nuclear industry, nanoindustry and in residential utilities.
The book also dwells on the diversification of the Russian economy on the basis of radical modernization of national technological, institutional and management systems in the basic industries of the fuel and energy complex, defense-industrial complex, infrastructure complex (transport, communications, residential utilities).
