The book examines military-political and strategic aspects of Russia’s participation in international institutions of multilateral cooperation against new security threats, as well as the priority areas, format and substance of such cooperation. It analyzes the Russian part in the arms control process and regimes, including agreements on reduction of nuclear weapons and strengthening the legal framework of nuclear non-proliferation. In the context of international security agenda the authors address the issues of legal regulation of the global arms trade, Russia’s role in the settlement of inter- and intrastate conflicts on the territory of the former Soviet Union within in the CIS and CSTO, Russia’s relations with NATO and the SCO.
