The basis of investment collaboration between Russia and Greece was formed in 1990-s — the years of Greek capital expansion to Russia and the formation of institutional and legal basis for further capital investments. In spite of the fact that Greece is not among Russian main economic partners, a number of Greek enterprises managed to carry on successfully large investment projects and gain a firm position at Russian market. The article points to the fact that domestic companies started to regard Greece as jumping-off ground for expansion to Europe in 2000-s. The author also analyzes the consequences of world economic crisis of 2008 that have lead to decrease in investment activity of Greek companies, more watchful attitude of Russian corporations to Greek market development and increase of Russian capital investments in immovable property. The article also touches the subject of primary forms of Russian-Greek investment collaboration and the main perspectives of its development.
