Relations between Russia and China are at an unprecedented level of trust and cooperation. But there is an opinion about the likelihood of a multivariate behavior of China in connection with internal and external negative factors. The authors analyze the asymmetry of the economic models of the Russian Federation and China, which carries certain risks in connection with Russia's participation in the Chinese project. One belt - one way. The possibilities of minimizing them are associated with the creation of fundamental balancers for the Russian Federation.
